The Injury
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) or Work Related Upper Limb Disorder (WRULD) are names associated with a number of different symptoms a person may suffer in their hands, arms, elbows, shoulders and neck due to sustained periods of repetitive activity. Diagnosed conditions that fall under the umbrella terms RSI and WRULD include:
- Tennis Elbow
- Tenosynovitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Epicondylitis
- Trigger finger/thumb
- Bursitis
Other upper limb conditions can also be included where there is pain but no specific diagnosis.
Common symptoms of RSI or WRULD include tiredness in the limbs, pins and needles, swelling, weakness, lack of grip, pain and discomfort, particularly at the end of a shift and during periods of rest (although this list is by means no exhaustive).
At Croftons we are supported by a team of specialist consultants who assist in providing a diagnosis. They are qualified to advise on the links between diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions and the work the injured person has carried out.
To discuss with our specialist team whether you have a case as a result of a Work Related Upper Limb Disorder or if you require further information, call us free on 0800 2800 094 or complete the online form on this page.
