Croftons Solicitors have helped a client receive an injury compensation award of £6,500 after falling down an open excavation.
The gentleman suffered soft tissue injuries to his chest and along with a fracture to his right shoulder when he fell down an open excavation during the on-going improvement works, which were being carried out by a contractor, to the Metrolink tram extension in Manchester.
Although the excavation was barriered, Croftons Solicitors were able to successfully argue that it was inadequately barriered particularly given that electrical cables were exposed within the excavation. Fortunately the client escaped with less severe injuries than he could have sustained and made a good recovery.
