£12,000 for pavement trip victim

A man who suffered multiple injuries when he tripped over a poorly maintained pavement has received £12,000 compensation with help from Croftons Solicitors.

The claimant was making his way along the council-maintained walkway when he fell over a damaged paving slab that was at a raised level.

This incident caused cuts to his face that have left permanent scars, while he suffered three broken teeth that required multiple dental procedures to fix. He also experienced injuries to his back, elbow and knee.

When it came to making a compensation claim against the council, they denied all liability for the incident, a stance which they maintained throughout the case.

While this made the claim more challenging, through the hard work we put into compiling solid medical evidence in support of the victim, we were able to secure a substantial compensation amount.

An experienced, determined solicitor

When a defendant continues to deny responsibility in a personal claim, it is important that you have an experienced solicitor on your side to help you secure compensation.

In this case, Croftons supported the claimant throughout the process, and our determination to see him compensated for his injuries was instrumental in persuading the defendant to agree on a settlement.

Our resources were also crucial here, with medical experts on hand to compile conclusive evidence that the victim had been hurt as a result of someone else’s negligence.

Accidents in public such as this can sometimes leave a victim wondering who is to blame. Here, the local council did not carry out its responsibility to maintain this pavement, and as such left itself open to a personal injury claim.

If you have suffered a similar accident and would like to know if you are eligible for compensation, give us a call free today on 0800 2800 094 or fill out an enquiry form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
