A woman who was injured tripping over a barrier while out shopping with her son has been awarded £3,187 compensation with help from Croftons Solicitors.
She was walking along the pavement outside a supermarket when the incident occurred just a fortnight before Christmas. The store had placed the barrier near a cash machine with the intention of directing customers to the facility.
However, the base of the barrier was not clearly marked, and as it was dark outside the claimant was unable to see the hazard as she approached. This caused to her to trip on the barrier, suffering an injury to her wrist and bruising to her knees and face.
She ultimately made a successful recovery from these injuries, but unfortunately her family was forced to cancel special holiday plans while her wrist healed. Consequently, the Croftons team worked hard to ensure part of these costs were factored in her final compensation amount.
The supermarket admitted liability for the accident, but the issue of contributory negligence was raised and made the case slightly more complex. Despite this, our personal injury solicitors were ultimately successful in securing fair compensation for the injuries this woman suffered.
