£5,500 for woman who slipped on wet shop floor

Croftons Solicitors have successfully helped secure £5,500 compensation for a woman who was injured after slipping outside a shop.

The victim was visiting a frozen food store and had to access the building via a ramp. The tiles used on this walkway were the same as those used inside the building.

As it had been raining that day, the tiles were wet when she arrived at the shop. As she attempted to use the ramp she slipped and suffered a broken ankle.

In addition to this injury, the victim also aggravated a pre-existing knee injury caused by arthritis in her opposite leg, as a result of having to overuse it while she was in plaster and on crutches.

Initially, the defendant denied liability for this accident, but eventually decided to accept blame for the incident and offered the victim a settlement amount.

How solicitors can help secure fair compensation

Our team felt that the compensation amounts proposed by the defendant were far too low given the nature of our client’s injury.

We worked hard to reach a fair resolution with the defendants, eventually achieving the final £5,500 settlement.

This case shows the importance of thinking carefully before accepting a settlement offer from someone who is to blame for your injury, even if they have accepted liability. While the amount may seem substantial, it may still be less than what you are entitled to.

It is vital that you speak to experienced personal injury solicitors as soon as possible after these incidents occur, in order for them to help you get the compensation you deserve.

Croftons Solicitors have years of experience in successfully dealing with cases of this nature, so we know exactly what constitutes a fair settlement. If necessary, we can also represent you in court to secure the appropriate amount.
